The Place in the End is the result of a one-month residency in South Amorgos. It brings to light the strategies that seven international artists employed, in order to connect with the wisdom and the heritage of South Amorgos.

The location of the most southern part of Amorgos was intrinsic to initiating the residency project due to the residency’s emphasis on notions of heritage and tradition, seclusion and physical isolation. Visitors to the area frequently report an overwhelming sense of peace. Tranquility is imbued through the sound of wind blowing in the valleys and animals traveling across land that glows in the low afternoon light.  

The artists stayed in the Church’s rooms of Aghia Praskeui, worked in the natural sites and in the building of the old school of South Amorgos. These conditions inspired new areas of artistic practices, research and ways of working with an economy of resources found locally.
