A defunct knitwear shop at Kypseli, stripped down from its original commercial identity, becomes an old frame to be re-used. The space is treated as a palimpsest, keeping some of its original character while at the same time reaching for other identities, uttering a different language.I go inside and imagine; fragments of the historical, cultural, local and personal body come flooding in. These are my materials. My job is to weave something out of all these loose ends, a voice with a message I cannot foretell. I chose to do this hand in hand with the space, thus resulting in site-specific and site-responsive work.” Share
