A pop-up contemporary art group exhibition, curated by Michael Afolayan, founder of the ANASA Cultural Center and Sophia Xenelli, art historian and museologist that aims to create a framework for expression and dialogue.

Through a theme related to African cultures and histories, six Greek artists of African descent communicate both their personal and artistic identity, as well as the collectives to which they belong.

The starting point for artistic creation was the story of the Zulu goddess Nomkhubulwane and the izangoma diviners, who were chosen by the goddess to protect the community and maintain its balance. The revival of her narrative after the abolition of apartheid inspired the participating artists to reflect on issues such as decolonization, the significance of community, and female identity as a timeless force of resistance.

Through the paintings of Helene Habia Nzanga, Mary Joyce Cabacungan, Ilia Kiama Tzogona, and Mohamed Belhedi, we will encounter different interpretations of the Goddess and multiple painting techniques. Meanwhile, the installations by Natalia Ireigke and ASOD/NR4T will introduce us to the ingenuity of African artistic creation within the context of contemporary Greek reality.
