[Living in-between] | Group exhibition
T.A.F/ the art foundation hosts Refugee Week Greece 2023 | 19.06 – 25.06.23
In the context of Refugee Week Greece, T.A.F. / the art foundation presents the art exhibition Living in-between under the theme of this year's festival which is "compassion". A combination of artists who address migration, in an artistic context and artists who have a refugee background themselves, participate in the group exhibition that will take place at T.A.F. / the art foundation from Monday 19 June until Sunday 25 June 2023.
About the Festival:
Refugee Week Greece is a community led, all welcome, fully accessible festival. We believe strongly in the importance and values of equality and diversity, and we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for event organizers, organisations and the public attending our events. Our aim is to understand and celebrate our diverse community and recognize the value of each individual's contribution. We believe that artists should be supported in their quest for a platform to express themselves and for that reason we produce and promote performances and installations for artists of diaspora, providing them with the necessary resources to bring their art to a receptive and supportive audience, and preparing them to continue their professional growth in other parts of the world. The festival is kindly supported by the Municipality of Athens with the participation of the Centre for Coordination on Migrant and Refugee Issues (ACCMR), the Municipality's Centre for Migrant Integration (KEM) and integration programmes, the UNHCR Greece, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Greece and the Children's Rights Network. Also, supported by Legrand Greece.
9 artists and art groups will engage in a multimedia conversation with the refugee past and present, the concept of mutual aid, their personal view of compassion, the cruelty of uprooting and the reality of refugees' daily lives.

Along side the exhibition ''Living in-between'', Compass Films, will also take place at T.A.F. / the art foundation, a film event that aims to raise awareness about refugee communities, compassion and promote inclusion through art.
Films and storytelling have a remarkable power to foster social cohesion and create empathy between individuals and communities. They have the ability to transcend cultural boundaries, connect people on an emotional level and shed light on the experiences and struggles of marginalised communities, including migrants and refugees. Recognizing this potential, Refugee Week Greece took a significant step forward by directly engaging migrant communities. In doing so, Compass Films aims to share stories of compassion, humanity and creativity, thus promoting understanding and inclusion, as part of Refugee Week Greece.
