Zisis Bliatkas attempts to redefine MsPaint, an outdated computer painting software, which he uses as a vehicle for producing images and narratives. The limitation of such a program and its scarce capabilities are the challenge to find solutions and "tricks" that will free it from any automation.

From European exotic landscape painting to Junglecore and Xpiritual aesthetics, Zisis Bliatkas comments on what we humans stereotypically find relaxing and undeniably beautiful: A lush green landscape with a lake and a waterfall. By reimagining these conventions, he refines them from the computer screen and makes them a little more "hyper" everytime.

This hyper-digitised style and focus on nature facilitates the most interesting contrast present throughout his work; the broad palette of greens, luscious leaves and trees clash with the jittery, glitches and harsh lines of the Microsoft Paint tools.

Within gradient spaces, often flooded, he places trashy structures and everyday objects (rags, cables, CD-ROMs), highlighting them as objects of prominent anthropological significance. These same things behave as openings to the landscape, as channels and conduits of the transcendental. Their imperfect form and latent design render these structures potentially functional, intensifying their comic and cultic nature.

Next to the dominant digital perfection, the trivial and DIY are opposed as a reconciling and necessary conditions. For Zisis Bliatkas, computer painting is a platform that evades the weight of material history and from which one can indulge in the pleasurable process of making an image.
