In what consists the role of art and the artist today? What new methods are appropriated by artists to enter into dialogue with their audience? In what ways is the artistic production altered by the new available media and the contemporary stakes? In this open talk-discussion, Dana Papachristou will attempt to compare contemporary art with a deleuzian and guattarian war machine. This war machine will be presented as the result of a rhizomatic relation between artwork and audience, as a producer of a smooth spaces that creates or takes advantage of limits and thresholds, as a nomadic assemblage of a minor art inclusive of its own reaction to assemblages of power and apparatuses of capture, so as to create change inside their striated, dichotomous and arborescent space.
