A note about Yiannis Pappas presentation at TWIXTlab

The analysis of the “environmental identity” which seeks to present the case of the sacred space of the Great Lavra Monastery (founded 972 A.D) through participatory observation, discourse analysis and mapping to a set of physical and mental elements, suggests the empirical and effective emotional spaces that concentrate the individual and collective ataraxia. The title of the master thesis “Spatial Ataraxia” is a metaphor (gr: transport, transmission or allegory) for the religious spaces, the ascetics (ancient gr. term for education or practice) and the epiphanies (gr: knowledge, revelation, surface).

A SERIES OF ARTIST TALKS
A research about artistic research

A series of artist talks is organized at TWIXTlab as part of the ongoing study of artistic research in Greece. Beginning in spring 2019, invited artists will talk about their work responding to issues regarding the production and representation of knowledge, and the ways in which artistic research is being perceived within the current artistic, educational, socio-political context.

The study of artistic research is being conducted by the visual artist and anthropologist Elpida Rikou and the art historian Katerina Konstantinou with the generous support of the Research Centre for the Humanities and in collaboration with TWIXTlab. Studying artistic research nowadays in Greece aims at promoting the discussion about the poetics and politics of artistic research.
