The notion of endangerment -and danger- in art seems to be such an inherent and inseparable part of it, as some extreme, controversial questions which are themselves born within the contradictions of the experience of contemporary art, continue to puzzle art practitioners and theoreticians alike.
Being aware of the visible and invisible dangers of the unpredictable "game" in which he participates, the artist risks by exhibiting and exposing himself, making a "leap of faith" in the void. The term "artist" seems to automatically embrace the acceptance of the existing inherent stakes of art, as well as the responsibility to create works that will promote the conditions for the feeding of old and new "risk areas", aiming at the reconsideration and reversal of perceptions that are harmful to the modern human condition.
On the other hand, the dangers of art have always been both its origin and food, and even the reason for its existence. The danger of art lies in the creation of alternative worlds from those propounded and supported by the establishment, as well as the revelation that, among the many possible worlds, the reality of this one is also an invention of the imagination.
The artworks of the exhibition remind us that the notion of danger is, to the extent that humans are free to judge and decide for their lives, a component of subjective experience, perception and temperament. It is possible that, through risk-taking, life and art find their most vital, common ground of re-action.
