A SERIES OF ARTIST TALKS
A series of artist talks is organized at TWIXTlab as part of the ongoing study of artistic research in Greece. Beginning in spring 2019, invited artists will talk about their work responding to issues regarding the production and representation of knowledge, and the
ways in which artistic research is being perceived within the current artistic, educational, socio-political context.
The study of artistic research is being conducted by the visual artist and anthropologist Elpida Rikou and the art historian Katerina Konstantinou with the generous support of the Research Centre for the Humanities and in collaboration with TWIXTlab. Studying
artistic research nowadays in Greece aims at promoting the discussion about the poetics and politics of artistic research.
Few words about Nina Pappa
Her work is based on elements of documentation. She has used research practices which include recordings of human voices that capture particular behaviors and codes of communication, such as recordings of people found at the same place with a common goal, e.g. working together, watching a show, or waiting in a waiting room. She has also focused on interviews with researchers who have a distinctive way of researching and recording their findings. Elements that recur in her work are the human voice and writing, as objects of observation, or as means of observing other objects.
