During its 3rd week Deliverart presents the work of Nina Papaconstantinou! Deliverart is a collective project and a moving experience that takes place in the streets of Athens.
The delivery box becomes an exhibition space and a medium at the same time. By adopting a familiar form that we so often use in our everyday lives Deliverart removes the work of art from the institutional framework of the exhibition space and brings it directly to the viewer.
The project comes about as a response to the new economy of time, the fragmentation of experience, the cycles of consumption and distribution, and the contemporary conditions that formulate the way we construct our relationship with the world that surrounds us.
An act of proximity, an action that is both physical and real, yet ephemeral and impermanent, Deliverart renegotiates the very conditions of exhibiting art while at the same time questions the network of its distribution. Nina Papaconstantinou (b. 1968, Athens) is a visual artist based in Athens, Greece. She studied Greek Literature in Athens and Visual Arts at Camberwell College of Arts, London. In 2015, she was artist-in-residence at the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies at Princeton University. Her work is mainly an investigation of the relationship between text and its image. Her work has been presented in several solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, more recently in: After Babel, AnnexM, The Athens Concert Hall (2018); Under/erasure, Pierogi gallery, New York (2018); Multitudinous Seas, Fondation Hippocrène, Paris (2018); ANTIDORON-The EMST Collection, documenta 14, Fridericianum, Kassel (2017); Typo, solo show, Kalfayan Galleries, Athens (2015); Quieter in Every Phrase, solo show, Martine Aboucaya gallery, Paris (2014), among others.
