Ηχώ Inauguration of Flux Laboratory Athens 18/05/19, Plaka (Agg. Geronta n.12) - 8:00 pm Installation - Performance Theodore Pistiolas + Ioanna Toumpakari
On May 18, 2019, Flux Laboratory inaugurates its new space in Athens, in Plaka neighborhood, on the occasion of the 15th edition of the International Museum Day, under the auspices of the Swiss Embassy in Greece. A place open to the city that will present Iho, a polyphonic instrument created by the sound artist and musician Theodore Pistiolas and activated by the dancer Joanna Toumpakari.
Ιho is an exploration of the links between visual arts, performance, music and engineering. It is an interactive sound installation and performance tool that records and translates human movement and its relationship to space. Ιho is a mechanism that interprets the kinetics of visitors to create a soundtrack specific to this place.
For almost four years now, the Flux Laboratory Athens has been celebrating the Body that it approaches in terms of a medium of creation, community, and source of know-how. These four years - until then nomads - have seen the birth of real collaborations with artists, private institutions, public, entrepreneurs and voluntary and committed cultural actors. True to its motto "My Motto: No Limits" (Isadora Duncan), Flux Laboratory will present a program with key rendez-vous throughout the year with performances, talks, film screenings, lessons, but will also be a place to gather and develop ideas and projects.
