Η CURRENT Athens είναι μία πλατφόρμα μη ιεραρχικής προώθησης της σύγχρονης τέχνης.
On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 19:00–21:00, we are happy to invite you to Images That Change the Way We See, an artist talk with Elliot Woods from the artistic duo Kimchi and Chips at Onassis AiR.
The duo's large-scale outdoor work, titled Another Moon, is currently exhibited at Plásmata: Bodies, Dreams, and Data digital art exhibition at Pedion tou Areos. The work consists of 40 towers that collect the sun’s light during the day and project it back into the sky at night, creating a second moon where their beams tightly superimpose to create a three-dimensional form overhead. On this occasion, Elliot Woods will present the creation process of Another Moon along with a tour through the collective’s works within the title ‘Drawing in the Air’. Kimchi and Chips are an artistic duo based in Seoul, South Korea. Their practice begins at the recognition that the arts, sciences and philosophy are not distant disciplines that must be bridged, but act as alternative maps onto the same territory, and that employing these maps in tandem allows the territory to be navigated more readily. Their work often deals with the notion that images are physical representations of imaginary forms, and that therefore the technology of images filters and reshapes our collective imagination. The talk will be presented in English. Another Moon is currently on display at Pedion tou Areos until July 10.
