Magnum Agency photographer Mark Power will be in conversation with writer and editor of American Suburb X Brad Feuerhelm. The conversation will commence at Void in the heart of Athens on Sunday November 3rd.
Mark Power’s (UK) illustrious career in documentary photography began in earnest in 1996 when he published the first of his eight books The Shipping Forecast a book about the esoteric language of weather reports. He has since successfully published several critically acclaimed books with his recent two volumes dedicated to the current American political and cultural landscape due in five volumes titled Good Morning, America (GOST). Power understands the importance of capturing moments of transition and his current project is his most ambitious to date. He widely collected by international museums and has been an active member of Magnum since 2002, with full membership granted in 2007. Brad Feuerhelm is the author of several books of his own work and has recently published Dein Kampf with MACK. He is the managing editor of American Suburb X.
This conversation will include a presentation of workshop participants that Power will have led over the previous dates in Athens. All participants will show work that has been made during the previous week under Power’s tutelage. The workshops are the first of a series of high-profile workshops as a partnership between Void and American Suburb X.
