Sam3 (1980) was born in Elche, Spain, and he currently lives and works between Murcia and Madrid. His artworks can be seen all around the world; starting in the ‘90s with graffiti, in the last years he created murals in more than 10 countries. The artist is known for his large compositions of “shadows”, as he calls them: black and anonymous silhouettes carrying alternative meanings, to be deciphered and appropriated by the community. The simple lines and the monochromatic style confer to the works a strong aesthetical impact, and they allow a direct transmission of the message. Moreover, contrasts among the empty and the painted space fully insert the wall surface into the artistic process. Between poetry and irony, his works can hide some provocative and darker meanings, to express the reality of life. Often, they talk about the human condition, seen through the artist’s experience of his international travels. Sam3 utilizes different artistic techniques, from sculpture to mural art, experimenting as well with stop motion videos and animation. He has participated to many Italian and international festivals, such as the Boombarstick Festival in Vodnjan, Croatia; the Outdoor Festival in Rome; the Memorie Urbane Festival in Gaeta and several editions of the Fame Festival in Grottaglie. http://sam3.es/home.html
