CURRENT Athens is an online platform for the non-hierarchical promotion of contemporary art.
Heritage is a concept perceived differently by each entity. There have been many attempts to understand and explain heritage. It might be a reference to something immobile, such as an archaeological site, something mobile, such as a work of art or even something immaterial as dancing. Usually, it relates to something valuable, from the past, worthy of preservation. There is a definite gap between what can be described as heritage and what is contemporary.
The goal of this exhibition is to connect these two contradictory concepts. Our inspiration will be individual perceptions of heritage -not necessarily derived from the past, but from our everyday life, our routine, and everyday objects.
So, what do you consider to be your own contemporary heritage?
