As first in Athens arts` pre-season TwoTwo Residency invites rising artist Mark van Hoek for his first solo exhibition in Greece. 

 

Through a methodology of observing and contemplating, the artist, with this installation, foremostly focuses on the relationship between text & image and thereby invites the spectator into a particular way of engaging. Particular in the sense of its imaginative qualities and its proposition towards the act of attributing value. 

 

This field of interest grew from desires which at one side found birth in the cacophony of imagery, that is thrown at the majority of society in contemporary daily life. Where at the other site the interest rose from his love for literature and poetry.
