Yellow Brick cordially invites you to the presentation of artist Anastasia Shin’s work, consisting of a reading and making session followed by an exhibition. The session takes place before the exhibition and involves one hour of reading and discussing, followed by one hour of making paper beads. Its content has been formed during her residency at Yellow Brick along with her parallel experiences in her residency at Peach Black.
In between her experiences Anastasia develops her own unique language and understanding of the balance between motherhood, and creation. Making a living becomes a poetic way of engaging with new experiences and the terms of market transformation to an understanding of creating sustainable life and work balance. Her multimedia installation as well as the reading and making session invites us to a complex and sensitive balance between creation and existing.

Anastasia’s work focuses on exploring particular habits of human behaviour. Within her recent work and research she is raising an awareness on the responsibility of motherhood. Shin’s self reflective process has included the rebalancing of attention and recalibrating her understanding of value and values.
