THE CATS ARE ON YOUR LAP AGAIN

Tabby cat, chat noir, nap on bubblewrap,
Hot glue, biscuits, matching smock-jackets.

Falafel five times a week.

Polypropylene, Baby Witchcraft, cloudy plexiglass,
Thermosetting plastic, 356 beers, cardboard hat.

Out here with the junkies punching columns,

Call to mom, rusty water, períptero condom.
Crisps, pet mosquitos, canned squid,

Printed matter scoured from neighbourhood.

Oil on linen, sore from ballet, lips chapped & split.
Variable dimensions, 183 teas, saxophone lesson,

Conversation about lighting that’ll last until the second coming.

Rough ceramics, thrift shop return policy, olive pit instrument,
Dog shit outside social kitchen, 290 coffees, morning erection,

And the cats are on your lap again.

Higher Sense is an artist studio space/residency run by Hermes Pittakos at Communitism.
It is a space that encourages Athens-based or international artists to meet, network, collaborate and share skills.
its main reason is to provide artists in search for a temporary workspace if they need it or if visiting Athens and need a space to work.

We ask for the artists in residence to offer a workshop during their stay as well as help upgrade the studio space itself as an exchange.
Their workshops focusses on providing Other artists in the city with new skills and networking between artists from different fields.
The artist in residence also has the opportunity to do an exhibition at the end of their residency.

We take on 1 artist for up to 6 months.
