Lucid Dream A dream in which the dreamer is aware of being asleep and dreaming and is sometimes able to control the course of events in the dream.

The first solo exhibition Lucid Dreamer of Margarita Markaki is an imaginary world made by a personal system of motifs, archetypes, surreal characters and enigmatic images influenced by nature, Art History and Pop culture. High and low elements, bold colours, lines and simplified formats create layers of abstract forms, various textures and a narrative atmosphere that the spectator is encouraged to decode and discover new elements, symbols and emotions from different points of view.

Margarita Markaki (Heraklion, Crete 1989) is a graduate of the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Thessaloniki (2012) with a Master's Degree in Visual Arts of Bradford School of Art, University of Bolton, UK (2019). She lives and works in Athens from 2021. She is a visual artist, art teacher and has participated in many seminars and group exhibitions.
