Can two women cross paths and yet never meet? Collapsing the boundaries between documentary and fiction, Wu Tsang presents "One Emerging from a Point of View". Α video installation and an Onassis Stegi international co-production that offers a different take on the phenomenon of migration. Set on the northeastern shore of Lesbos, Greece, the work revolves around a scenario in which two women cross paths three years ago – although they never met. A magical realist approach as she works in collaboration with her subjects to create a hybrid fantasy. Sudden Rise by Wu Tsang
Wu Tsang and the Moved by the Motion ensemble use excerpted fragments from the text “Sudden Rise at a Given Tune” – written by Tsang, boychild, and Fred Moten – to create a performance that gives the impression of a living collage. Our civil rights of the 20th century meet the lyrics of Jimi Hendrix and the musings of Hannah Arendt.
