INTERNATIONAL REFUGEE DAY + Facing Prejudice By Mark Henley After being first produced and exhibited by Flux Laboratory in Zurich in 2017, "Facing Prejudice" was presented at the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) in 2018. "Facing Prejudice" will be presented worldwide to raise awareness.

This year, the Greek Parliament, the Greek Ministry of Culture, the Embassy of Switzerland in Greece and Fluxum Foundation/Flux Laboratory have chosen to present a series of portraits of refugees produced by photographer Mark Henley in Switzerland. Prior to the exhibition at the Greek Parliament, a photography workshop led by Mark Henley will take place on the 18th of June at the Fine Art School of Athens. For one day, 40 young refugees will learn portrait techniques in a photographic studio. From the 20th to the 27th of June, the work produced by the refugees during the workshop will be presented in Koukaki Area, Falirou Str., 99, alongside Mark Henley’s portraits.

MARK HENLEY https://www.markhenleyphotos.com Twice named Swiss Press Photographer of the Year, Mark Henley is based in Geneva, Switzerland at the UN. Having spent many years on the road, examining the effects of economic and social change in the world, his recent work observes the structures and organizations affecting those changes, many of them operating from his adoptive home town. He has also worked extensively on the refugee crisis, his work looks into both of refugees moving through Europe and those seeking asylum in Switzerland, he cooperates with UNHCR and the Hospice général. The project 'Bank on Us' on the Swiss banking industry has won several awards including Swiss Press Photographer of the Year in 2012. He won this award a second time in 2014 for his observation of the diplomatic negotiations leading to the Iranian nuclear deal in Geneva 'Waiting on a deal' Born in Oxford U.K., he studied literature at the University of York, and lived for ten years in Asia.
