Mary Roussioti and Carla Joyce welcome you to share in the opening of POW WOW- an art and cultural center located in Maroussi. The space will be inaugurated with Mary Roussioti's exhibition entitled SOMEWHERE BETWEEN, on Saturday 2 June 2018 at 6:30 p.m

A few words about the space:
Pow Wow's is a space for free artistic expression and the cultivation of imagination and creativity. It welcomes families to bond, venture, develop and interact with others while exploring the arts through a series of experiential workshops. Parents who love the arts also have a meeting place where they can feel comfortable to bring their children. 
POW WOW is a term borrowed from Native American culture and refers to a social gathering involving many different communities of indigenous American tribes. A modern pow wow could be a kind of event for people all over the world to meet and dance, sing, socialize and honor their cultures!

A few words on the exhibition:
SOMEWHERE BETWEEN is the title of the exhibition inaugurated in the new venue. This new work by Mary Roussioti started at the same time as the creation of POW WOW. These are basically works for this area. A record of the whole process of transformation of space, in which all the stages of creation, pressure, joy, expectation, and anxiety for the new as experienced by itself are reflected. Some works are also made of materials removed during renovation, such as old tiles.
The materials they used are sprays, markers and acrylic paints on canvas and tiles. 
She herself says that SOMEWHERE BETWEEN refers to the uncertainty we live in when we are in a transition phase in our lives. Where something changes, we feel it, we experience it but we still can not see it.
Between the new and the old ... in the familiar and the unknown ...
