Athens Jewelry Week was first held in the summer of 2016 with a vision of breathing new life into contemporary artistic jewelry and Greek creators. Through exhibitions, lectures and workshops, visitors had the opportunity to discover the contemporary trend of art jewelry in Greece by artists who consider jewelry as a work of art, using the human body as their “canvas". The second edition of the event, in 2017, expanded its boundaries by creating a bridge between Greek and international creators and collectives active in contemporary art jewelry.

AJW's mission is to inform and educate the public on issues related to contemporary jewelry as a form of art and a means of creative expression, to support artists and creative groups active in this field, and to constitute a meeting point for all interested parties, such as artists, galleries, collectors, museums and other institutions promoting art and culture through creative communication and networking.

This year, in its third edition, AJW will present the work of 120 contemporary jewelry artists from all over the world, at the Art + Jewelry: Intersecting Spaces exhibition and other 9 exhibitions, lectures, workshops, performances and other events taking place at the center of Athens.
