An installation by Babak Ahteshamipour regarding the ethics of death, the ritualistic perception and interpretation of absence and nullity, and the taboos regarding suicide, euthanasia and cremation.
Babak Ahteshamipour (born 1994 in Arak, Iran, lives and works in Athens, Greece since 2000) is an undergraduate student at the Technical University of Crete, Department of Mineral Resources Engineering, but mainly a nobody whose focal point in his research is the organic subject and its relationship to the Real. Meaning, how an organic subject unable to comprehend the universe completely, interprets partially fragments of it, based on a limited sensory system, creating erroneous generalizations and prejudices. He has been playing music for 12 years, and in the last 5 years he has been occupied with painting, video art and writing. He has participated in various seminars and group exhibitions, and did his first solo exhibition at Chimeres.space, Athens in 2019.
M2M8 is a 28 hours residency where artists are invited to make a new work in the time and space given. M2M8 takes place in the MEME gallery, Keramikou 28, Metaxourgeio.
Starting on Sunday at 14:00, an artist will occupy the MEME gallery, on Monday at 20:00 the gallery will be open for public for The Verni-Finissage.
