Phoenix Athens invites you to the opening of Saint Mea Culpa by the residency artist Garth Roseth.
Roseth acknowledged this residency programme as a chance to restart his artistic practice and create a new start by burying the past and reviving its future. His research material lays around the notion of solitary work and the exploitation of workers in relation to the artistic practice and the current economic situation. The constructed “prison cell” becomes the manifestation of his main research. The artist decontextualises his practice, by sewing in a “ symbolic prison cell” built inside of the gallery space.
