Morning Coffee, 08:00-12:00
Afternoon Raki & Meze, 18:00-22:00
An exhibition with works by Stephanie Orati.
Curated by Antonia Oikonomou.
We attempt to expose and amplify the backdrop of the presented. Rejecting the refined and revealing a process through space.
A selection of prints, drawings and sketchbooks exposing the viewer to performances of the everyday, with visuals concerning ideas of privacy, intimacy and over-exposure.
Through the curation of this work, we aim to examine the concept of an archive. The context in which the exhibition takes place, the kafenion, plays a crucial role in this, as it may be considered a foundation for creation. I Mouria, 103 years old, is decorated with national images, family ephemera, old canvases and advertisements that act as the backdrop and form the physical stage of social engagement. Through this context, the fuelling of interaction, the exchange of ideas and the stimulation of arguments not only exposes something esoteric, but further constitutes the site's history.
